Okay folks, here, finally, is another critique from your friendly internet robot! We have a parrot. An awesome, awesome parrot.

Unfortunately, I'm not a photographer, so there's only so much advice I can give. That said, I can say what went right.

Whether you had a grey parrot or used a monochrome setting for the shot, either way, this was brilliant on your part. I'm used to photographs of parrots having an emphasis on their unique colourations, or expressions, so therefore, its a little tough to find a parrot that gives you a good idea of how the feathers and beak are actually textured. This pic, by contrast, throws color away, putting the emphasis on texture.

The lighting choice further supports the choice in monochrome, bringing the texture of beak and arrangement of the feathers into sharp relief.

While parrots are an oft-seen subject here on DA, you have managed to photograph one in a unique and very instructive way, and for that I salute you. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>
